Developer Information

Developer: ChargePath

Overview

ChargePath is a route planning and EV charging decision support app. We prioritize user privacy and minimize data collection wherever possible. Most core calculations run locally on your device.

Network requests occur for routing, place search, weather data, EV charging station data retrieval, and advertising as described in the sections below. Charging station information shown in the app may come from third-party data sources, including Open Charge Map and other region-specific providers. The developer does not operate independent servers and does not store personal data.

03

Data We Process

We may process the following data to provide core app functionality:

Location data (only if permission is granted)
Route queries (origin and destination)
App usage events (e.g. route planning actions)
Device information (OS version, device type)
Locally stored preferences and vehicle profile
Charging station information provided by third-party station data sources; this station data does not include personal information about the user
When widget features are enabled, limited nearby station summaries and local app snapshots shared on-device between the app and widget
04

Location Data

Used for route planning and nearby station discovery via Apple MapKit
Used to fetch weather conditions along your route via Apple WeatherKit and Open-Meteo
If widget-related nearby station features are used, location-derived nearby station summaries may be stored locally on-device and shared with the widget through Apple-provided local storage
Location access is optional and fully user-controlled
Not stored on developer servers
May be transmitted to Apple (MapKit, WeatherKit) and Open-Meteo for service delivery
05

Local Processing

Most calculations — route filtering, charging station display, battery estimates, and user preferences — are processed entirely on your device and never sent to developer-controlled servers.
06

Third-Party Services

ChargePath uses the following third-party services for core functionality:

Apple MapKit — Routing, directions, and place search. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Apple WeatherKit — Weather conditions along your route. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Open-Meteo — Fallback weather data provider when WeatherKit is unavailable. Open-Meteo is GDPR-compliant and does not require user identification.
Open Charge Map and other region-specific station data providers — Used to display EV charging station information in supported countries or regions. This station data does not include personal information about the user.
Apple Remote Time Service — Used to verify the current time for subscription validation purposes.
Google AdMob — Advertising for free users. Subject to Google's privacy policy.

Google AdMob — Advertising

AdMob may collect the following data. The developer does not receive or store this data directly.

Advertising Identifier (IDFA), if user consent is given via ATT prompt
Approximate location derived from IP address
Device type and operating system information
IP address for fraud prevention and ad delivery

All AdMob data is handled by Google under their own privacy policy.

07

Advertising

Free users may see interstitial and banner advertisements
Premium users see no advertisements whatsoever
Rewarded ads may be watched to temporarily unlock certain features
Advertising consent is managed via Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework
08

Premium Features

ChargePath Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription via Apple In-App Purchase. Premium users unlock:

Unlimited trip planning
Multiple route comparison and alternatives
Risk analysis and weather insights
Advanced route preferences
Unlimited favourites
Completely ad-free experience

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policy. The developer does not receive or store payment information.

09

Data Storage

Usage limits and premium status stored securely via iOS Keychain
Vehicle profile and preferences stored locally on your device
When the widget is enabled, limited app data may be stored locally in an App Group container shared between the app and the widget so the widget can display nearby charging station information
Shared on-device data may include local app snapshots and nearby station summaries needed for widget presentation
No personal accounts or sign-in required
No central user database maintained by the developer
10

Data Retention

Most data is stored locally on your device and is removed when you delete the app. This includes locally stored preferences, vehicle profile data, and widget-related shared local snapshots or nearby station summaries stored in the app's App Group container. However, some data stored in iOS Keychain (such as premium status and usage limits) may persist after deletion depending on iOS version and device settings. You can clear this by resetting all settings on your device. The developer does not retain any copies of your data on external servers.
11

What We Do NOT Do

We do not sell personal data to any third party
We do not track users across apps or websites ourselves — however, advertising partners (Google AdMob) may do so if you grant consent via the App Tracking Transparency prompt
We do not store personal profiles on developer servers
We do not collect sensitive personal information
We do not require account registration
We do not access contacts, messages, or social media
12

Children's Privacy

ChargePath does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly address the matter.

13

Security

Data is protected using iOS system-level security features including app sandboxing, device passcode protection, biometric authentication, and secure Keychain storage.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected by revising the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any revised policy.
